Turns ratio testing verifies the transformer voltage ratio matches design specifications.
Test Method
- Apply low voltage to HV winding
- Measure induced LV voltage
- Calculate ratio: V_HV / V_LV
- Compare with nameplate ratio (±0.5% tolerance)
Equipment
TTR (Turns Ratio Test Set), digital multimeter, or automatic ratio tester.
